Memories of childhood.

Smell of Apple Pie cooking in the oven. Making my own little pie crust goodies from leftover dough. The feel and fragrance of sun dried sheets, towels and clothes.

Three channels on the TV. Black and White no less. No video games, I pads, Computers, I phones. Just us and our imagination, card games, toys, board games, climbing trees, riding bikes, making forts etc.

Sitting down to eat and actually talking about our days at school, Dads day at work, and what Mom did during the day and what happened on the soap operas. It was a time of simplicity. Family outings, family games, cooking together, cleaning together.

I think about our society today and wonder if everything was closed on Sundays, and each household put away all there technology for two hours every night and just spent quality time together, maybe even an hour.
What if all children felt comfortable asking there parents to talk and not told "We will talk later, I am busy"
What if all parents read to there children before bed, each expressed love to one another.
What if we tried to be good parents to our kids and less of trying to be there friends.

The simple things in life can be the difference in our future. In our children's future.
When was the last time you hugged your child or parent and said " I love you"?
When was the last time you told them you appreciate them?

Don't dwell on the past and what you didn't do, or mistakes you made. Change today, change your future.
